QUOTIDIAN INVESTMENTS

INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

With significant weight given to our own internal macro views, we buy and hold liquid investments for the medium to long term, focusing on companies with strong management, significant market share, well known brands, a solid balance sheet and strong cash flows.

Our Funds target absolute performance on an annualized basis and are regularly benchmarked against the FTSE100 Index and the MSCI World Index.

Investment Strategy

The investment strategy is clear, we agree a macro view internally to determine the global investment environment and then use a series of screens and fundamental research to select our investments. The actual timing of the investments, either buying or selling, is supported by technical analysis.

We invest in up to 25 holdings, aiming to strike a balance between too wide a spread of assets which, in our view, tends to dilute performance and too narrow a focus on a more limited asset spread which can increase risk to unacceptable levels.

Investment Philosophy

The selection of assets included in the portfolio and the weighting between them we believe to be the most important factors determining overall investment returns and the preservation of capital.

Investment markets are cyclical and so we seek to organise the asset allocation of your portfolio to suit you and the prevailing investment conditions.

The importance of being in the right asset class at the right time is fundamental. In this respect, cash is an asset class and we are content to remain in cash for extended periods if markets are relentlessly negative and less likely to produce a profit commensurate to risk.

Tactics

Tactically we only make investments where and when we feel that the potential for profit is compelling. We review our investment decisions on a daily basis. Hence the name ‘Quotidian’.

We buy and hold liquid investments for the medium to long term, focusing on companies with strong management, significant market share, well known brands, a solid balance sheet and strong cash flows.
